La Balzac cinema, Chateau Renault - JUly 24th 2010
Our second visit to this charming but underpopulated cinema, and for a film that needs more words that I have at the moment. But even with french dialogue, and with all the graphics in french too (how many different languages do they do?), this was pure genius entertainment. Hugely moving and with all manner of complex resonances going on. So much detail, and with visuals that you feel you could just step in and touch. So utterly credible, with stunning animation performances. Full makrs to whoever animated Ken's walk, and whoever came up with Mr Tortilla head. I cam away exhilerated, somewhat in awe, and rather humbled, looking at our own rather small efforts. All rather insignificant by comparison. A great film, and i think I enjoyed it far more than the others actually. And with the whole experience of the two lovely ladies on duty tonight, it was a good evening.
