A Sad Farewell

Postby Mariano » Mon Jan 09, 2006 3:06 pm

Hello, i wanted to share with all of you the notice i have just got about the death of Rodolfo Saenz Valiente at the age of 61.He was one of the greatest argentinian animators and visual artists. He was my teacher at Universidad de Buenos Aires . a true animation lover, an investigator and experimental who was never stopped by having no ways or means or budget. We will all miss him so much and i wanted you to know a little about him. unfotunately his work is not online anywhere and he didn´t have a website. His animation book is going to be released shortly and i hope you will be able to give it a look. here is a little review of his carrer.

Thanks Mariano for telling us about that. I'll have a look at that website.
Hopefully I'm still heading down to Argentina in April.

Hello Barry (Im Back), first of all; I owe you a large post, about your visit in argentina; I write in spanish and i have to traslate in english (but you know my english) .. :?
Im also student of Saenz Valiente; I knew him algo outside the class, in his studio and every word he say, was inspire :( Im very sad with this news. When I knew I fell very sad, but then I saw "Overtime" (the short that you show here) and I fell a bit better.

You came in April, I will try to get in touch.
